Pallies heal and priests DPS

With the armory out we can look at every character and guild in WoW. Since Death and Taxes is one of the best, if not the best guild everyone is analyzing their members which is causing a head turn.

Apparently the paladins are spec’d as the main healer and the priest are spec’d shadow. Also Nidhogg from Death and Taxes confirmed their requirements

Our warriors tank
Our paladins heal
Our druids heal
Our priests DPS
Our rogues DPS
Our hunters DPS
Our warlocks DPS
Our mages DPS
Our shamans heal

He also added some insight as to why they bring shadow priest, “their utility + DPS is unmatched“.

Is there something wrong with the classes which a hybrid out performs a non-hybrid?

I found an interesting post that shows the evolution of the Paladin class into the main healer role.

As for me, I will always be spec’d protection. I dont mind healing but that is not my playstyle.
