Seal of Command PPM is based on base weapon speed, not modified. If haste was bad for SoComm like quite a few people tend to think, all ret paladins would be losing damage and having heart attacks when a shaman pops heroism. Haste isn't a bad stat, otherwise paladins popping haste potions would be gimped to hell and back every time we use them. While haste is a good stat to have since things are now clarified, they shouldn't take precedence over hit/AP/Crit. I use haste gear and it dramatically helped my DPS overall. Since I made my swiftsteel shoulders, the only upgrade I had from one run in Gruul's to the next, my final damage output boosted itself up by about 38k damage from the last run. I had the same group build as before (Marks hunter, fury warrior, shadow priest, feral druid) and the same flask, relentless assault, up. 38k may not sound like much for a 25 man on a boss, but it knocked me up 3 spots on the damage chart to number 2 last run.

The problem with your source quote is that its information is outdated. 2.3 changed SoC, removing spell damage from the equation. This is where any ret paladin who doesnt want to be a nub finds their sh*t.

The other problem (probably the main problem) is the way Blizzard's new favorite stat (Haste) scales with SoB but does NOT with SoC.

SoC gets a certain number of proc per minute. Doesn't matter if you swing 10 or 100 times, SoC only goes off a certain number of times. Haste increases your swing speed, so you are hitting more often, but you aren't getting more SoC procs.

SoB doesn't have this problem at all since it goes off on every swing.

Keep in mind he's calculating a 10% boost to damage over a 1 minute period. That's 1000 more damage or 16.7 more DPS at the expense of what, 20% of the damage caused by the seal/judgement? Without doing any numbers (I'm tired from raiding all night), you're looking at around 2k damage taken per minute? I dunno, check my rapid math.

I dont see the big deal in a healer throwing you a flash every once in a while. What's it 180 mana? If a healer cant get to you it's your responsibility to have some Super Rejuvination Potions, bandages, heal yourself, or if your an alchemist mad alchemist potions in your inventory to heal yourself.

Well, you forgot that by using SoB you are leeching your healers mana - great for someone who is only interested in showing off is imba 2h weapon (they heal you, you get even MORE mana and dps zomg!)

Kinda sucky, if you or your tank dies, because you needed healing attention......
