Will it be helpful, sure. I am a Grand Master Engineer and I will use it from time to time to buy last minutes pots, mats, etc but I think having a Faction AH in Dalaran is pointless. You're a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the Portals to head to the AH in one of the Capital city.

Also few/some/most players have a bank toon that does most of their AH needs (ie. buying, selling, etc). If not you have alot more bag space than me.

I have to say I don't support the idea of switching the steam AH to the neutral rather than faction AH. While people may avoid the neutral AH in part because of accessibility issues, there's also the matter of the high posting fees. And I just don't think there are enough engineers (especially ones who are going to be willing to stand there and be proxy auctioneers for the general population) to change anything about the popularity of the neutral AH. It will still be much simpler and in most cases more economical to just work through the faction AH, and that's what people will continue to do. Honestly, switching from faction to neutral would turn the steam powered auctioneer from something I would use a lot to something I would almost never use.

Sweet changes indeed. Engineering still remains the 'gadgetteer's' profession. But it seems more fun than ever now :p

A Dalaran neutral AH is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure if it would get enough critical mass to have stable or sane prices.

The hypothetical Dalaran AH would only be used by Dalaran engineers, and if engineers are 10% of the population, that's a small pool of customers. Would you rather post your saronite in a small market where you don't know if it'll sell in time, or post your saronite in a big market with lots of buyers?
