I finally had a chance to read all of the changes to the Paladin class. From what I see so far, I am quite happy but I can see potential mana issues with the protection tree. This is due to the additional spells able to generate threat and some spells cast times were reduced (i.e. Holy Shield). This may or may not change as the beta progresses so I am not too worried about it.

There is a lot of speculation to what “new” ability a Paladin will get or changes to the existing ones in the upcoming WoW expansion WotLK. I for one foresee rehashes of “new” ability from other classes being implemented to the Paladin Class.

For example Shaman Totem changes. This change will affect the entire raid not just the party you’re teamed with. This is a significant change to the Shamans, which makes then more reliable in raids. However I can easily see this same change implemented with Paladin’s auras and some blessings.

This is a nice upgrade to auras/blessings but it is a rehash of a new ability from another class. I don’t mind seeing the change (I kind of like it) but Blizzard is known to “recycle” abilities to other classes, which makes it easier to implement (for Blizzard). However seeing Titan Grip for Warriors and Illidan form for Warlocks it makes Paladins look obsolete and just an old class with mediocre talents (which needs a major overhaul). I hope Blizzard has something amazing in store for the Paladin community, which will make the new ability epic.

For once in my Paladin career, I hope blizzard will listen to the QQ…well, just a little bit.

Today I was about to give an in-depth article about Seal Twisting but I decided against it. Here is why…

Seal twisting is a gimmicky bug/exploit. Basically, you queue up Rank 1 Seal of Command for the chance of the proc and switching to Seal of Blood during the swing so you get both effects, which you can potentially crit 4x on one hit. This may sound amazing but utilizing this exploit will raise the red flag to Blizzard and may ban users for exploiting the bug. Remember exploiting a bug breaks the TOS, which is a bannable offense whether the action is big or small. I’m not saying you will get banned but you will give Blizzard every right to take action if they have the evidence. So twist at your own risk.

However I will say this, twisting is very situational. You can potentially hurt your DPS during a fight because of the nature of the game encounters, pvp usefulness and the mechanics of the skills. Tom Chilton: We’re also going to be doing away with spell-damage only type of gear. We’ll moving to a system that, as part of your talents, player will be able to convert healing into spell-damage and vice-versa as part of their talents. That way, they can use the exact same gear, but their talents just adapt what it does.

With so little information provided, I have so many questions about his statement because I can take it in so many directions. However I do believe Blizzard will eliminate the ability to downrank your spells with this change.

By making your talents a part of the system, it is forcing Blizzard to insert a predetermine amount of extra damage/healing which may not benefit as it once was. Your +1400 healing maybe equivalent to a +1000 healing with the new conversion system.

I am looking forward to more information about this.

A few months ago, Blizzard decided to open a new PVE server called Cairne. The server is new meaning you can not transfer to the server and the AQ gates were closed (the gates opened this past weekend, that was fun to experience again). This intrigued me because I could start all over again. Also it would allow me to relax and not worry about raiding. So I decided to start a new alt (Belf hunter) and begin a new journey.

Until the server opens transfers to Carine you may read about my hunter’s misadventures being out of ammo. ;P

Stormgaard at Se7en-samurai.blogspot.com wrote an article called “Tankadin Stats for Dummies”. The article is very basic but helpful for those just learning the tankadin roll.

A few days ago I read an WoW Insider article about a druid that soloed Onyxia but the druid had a hunter on stand by (just in case a warder bugged out). This I found amazing but I started to think, I haven’t seen a Paladin solo Onyxia…until now

Some guilds are like buzzards, hovering around the world of warcraft looking for a dead carcass (a player without a guild tag). Once they see one, they swoop down to claim it and feed off of it.

Just last night I was whispered by 3 guilds asking to join them within 30 minutes when I logged on. I respectfully declined their offer since I am not sure what I want to do with Salud. But one just made me laugh.

I was first whispered asking what spec I was. I ignored the whisper thinking he was trying to get a group together to run some instance. Then again I was whispered in all caps “WHAT SPEC ARE YOU?”. I replied “Why”. At this point I am annoyed. I just hate it when people write in all caps, just a pet peeve of mine. Minutes later, literally minutes, he replied, “I AM A RECTRUITING OFFICER AND I AM ALWAYS IN THE LOOK OUT FOR NEW MEMBERS”. Again he responds in all caps, grrr.

I decided to play along, so I asked him a series of questions to get a feel what the guild is about. For example: How many are in your guild? Is your guild hardcore or casual? How far is your guild’s progression? If you raid what time do you start? He replied with the following statement “Let me ask”

You are the recruiting officer and you don’t know.

I just told him no thank you and didn’t wait for an answer.
