    Greetings,

This is an excellent start for a resource for Pallies. I’m a 61 pallie on Emerald Dream and have been looking for such a resource that compiles good information. Please keep up the good work.

That being said, I could use some help from an experienced pallie. Drop me an email if you have the time!

I think we all could use help from experienced pally. Any help provided, please post it here so we can all take advantage of it.

What type of assistance to do need?

2 year paladin veteran on Spinebreaker. Kudos on a great start here. I’m going to check in here from time to time and see if I can help with anything.

Well, here’s a list of some topics I’d like to tackle.

I’m now lvl 64 (its been some time since I posted). I’d like some info on:
    • What weapons/armor I should be working towards
    • Battle tactics, yesterday I got pwned by a 64 shammie and it irritated me
    • Best enchants for weapons and armor
    • Stats I should be building up (I’m always hearing stam)
    • I recently rerolled from Ret to Holy as I’ve seen recommended just about everywhere after 60. Problem is now I suck at PVP and PVE. I’d like to know my best tactics for dealing with a mob or a horde. For example, what auras I should be using, what seals I should be using in what order, etc.

is this a good set to shoot for as a healing set to go into kara?

It’s a great set to start with for a holy build, except 5 or 6 of the items drop from heroics. It is hard for a pally to main heal a heroic without already having the gear you’re trying to get or better. The helm and chest drop from non-heroics. Start with those two. I’d also suggest working on rep with the various factions instead of completing this set. There is a very nice epic healing mace at exalted with sha’tar (or a craftable one), a craftable epic healing bracer, quest gear, Khorium craftable 3 piece armor set is ok as well. Once you have at least 4 level 70 blues, you’re ready to start Kara and able to contribute a lot. Once you start Kara, you’ll be replacing these blues fast. Finally, when starting out, don’t be afraid to get cloth, leather or mail healing gear. Your goal should be to have the bestest and easiest healing gear you can find pre-kara, and yes, I know I mispelled that. When I started Kara, I had 2 pieces of cloth, 1 piece of leather and 1 piece of mail because they were simply better than what was easily available outside of kara. You should shoot for about +1200 healing bare minumum to start Kara and about +1400 for most heroics to go along with all your other stats and abilities.

Having +1200 healing gear is great but I was successfully healing in Kara with 900+ healing. However I was considered 3rd healer (ie Party healer) and used my cooldowns, trinkets, mana pots, healing elixirs, etc to keep up. It was a lot of work but it is manageable.

Shoot for 1000+ healing and you’ll be fine. Imho. But if you want to main heal, then you need atleast 1200+ unbuff.

I play a healbot on Amanthul and been a healer since 52..I’ve learnt alot from the pre BC raids but more so in Kara. +healing is a great thing to start off with as it gives you to required punch for those early boss encounters. But start looking at Mp5 as well. Abit of research into Mp5 will do you good. I could write till the cows come home about it (not claiming to be an expert but more of a collaboration of info and experience) but actually doing the nitty gritty resaerch would be the best way to grasp the concept. I entered Kara with about +1200 healing and that was enough to be as main healer for the 1st few boss fights, however the gear in kara will naturally boost ur stats as they drop.

Another thing to consider when look at gear is to look beyond plate (*shock, horror*../w I can’t beleive he said it)..yes yes look at other types of armor. One of the 1st upgrades that I received outside kara was the cloth robe (yes yes I know its a dress) that you can porbably find on AH that is a blue item (sorry i forget what it was called) but its is a good peice of kit until you can source a plate replacement. And yes it was the focus of alot of LOLs in the raid group as my wife was the MT and therefore made her the more masculin one out of us..*sob*..Another upgrade is the healing kilt (yes it is another dress) from the Kurinei, its is a socketable item there for sticking some nice +9 healing/2 Mp5 gems in it is a great updrade and also some silver spell thread to boot. The healing mace from Shat’tar is also a must and also the crystalpulse shield (sorry its the wrong name but u know what I’m on about) is essential as well.

If you want to look me up try armory..Minsom on amanthul Oceanic..I’m not the greatest gear healadin around but I can still perform to a high standard..

    Cheers
