The Holy Light Compels Me

There has been a lot of chatter among players/bloggers that the paladin class is no longer appealing. So some are leaving the game or trying a different class. I don’t blame them, Blizzard has done a lot that affected the paladin in all spec not just retribution in the recent weeks. (i.e. judgments, AW/DS, etc) However it is funny how people forget the positive things that came out: an instant/HoT heal, more damage in both Ret and Prot, a one minute CC, the ability to mana regen the party, I can keep going.

As for me, I am staying with my paladin. I have invested too much time and effort to let a few nerfs stop me from ditching the holy light. I like the class, I like the mechanics, I like the versatility.

Keep in mind, I will play a DK and level up my warrior but my main will always be my paladin.

It’s very good to hear that some paladin’s aren’t crying about the nerfs. I’ll stick with my paladin because despite all of the nerfs of the past few weeks, I’m still MUCH better off than I was before patch 3.0.2!

I find the continued changes, especially Ret nerfs, to be confusing and annoying this late in the cycle. And my PvE holy pally getting nerfed due to Ret PvP issues makes me angry. So I am hesitant to invest too much in my pally until I see how things settle out. At least holy pallies are about the same as TBC, unlike locks where I loathe the changes that were made.

My pally was my first toon and I really miss playing him; but those days and game are gone.

I guess the choices for me are Hunter, Boomkin, or EVE.

The only reason I’m considering switching mains from the Pally to the Druid is because of how many pallies we have already :). I enjoy them both a great deal, so I may flip flop to start out Wrath and settle on one as the first 80 after a bit of messing with both.

Agree with acedanger, I was concerned before the final nerf came out about how my DPS/healing/tanking was going to look and feel like (due to the TO THE GROUND BABY bs), but now I’m happy to say that my pally is WAY better than in TBC… and the good things that nerfs brings is that we are not going to see the shit load of noob paladins overloading the servers, only the real good ones will stay.. so don’t lose your faith in the Light!!
