Freya Downed! (10-Man)

Last night after 6 attempts we finally downed Freya (guild first). The boss was not difficult but the adds were tough. Particularly the 3 adds; Storm Lasher, Ancient Water Spirit and Snaplasher. Those 3 adds gave us a bit of trouble. For some reason we could not figure out how to kill them. Either we were too slow in killing them before the next wave or the off-tank was killed by the stacking debuff.

Finally the last attempt we got our rhythm and took the adds with enough time to caught our breath before the next wave. Good times!

Definitely a step up in challenge from the previous two Keepers fights.

Thorim was surprisingly easy, and we were able to one-shot it. That fight seemed to be all about planning, in terms of picking the right group split, and knowing what obstacles were in the way.

Hodir was more tricky, but stacking our odds with Frost Resist gear, we didn’t have too much trouble there either.

Yet with Freya, it was definitely a case of both learning curve and execution. Even once we knew *what* to do with the various adds, actually getting that done wasn’t always the simplest task.

In the end, we definitely had a very clean kill for our guild first though. Hopefully our next trip in there will meet similar success.

And that brings our Ulduar kill number to 10, which has a nice ring to it. 🙂

Just Mimiron, Vezax and Yogg-Saron to go! (And then Algalon, but I highly doubt we’ll be making any serious runs at that one.)

In 10 man, if you make sure a ranged is always hitting the Snaplasher, it’s movement should be reduced to a full stop after being hit a certain number of times…just make sure that dps stays on the Snaplasher, if it stops getting hit, the speed debuff will wear off and it will either run up and gank the dps who was hitting it, or eat the tank’s face.

Good job on killing her! She still gives us fits sometimes.
